The Peace Centre of the Province and the City of Antwerp is a not-for-profit association that develops peace education and remembrance education projects on behalf of the city and the province of Antwerp, for young people and adults. The Peace Centre tries to establish links between the past and present with these projects, and between Belgium and the world. We work with partners where possible. The Peace Centre’s target audience is made up of schools, civil society organisations and interested visitors. The centre’s activities are varied, including debates on topical issues as well as more structural projects focussing on the World Wars, democracy and tolerance.
Besides this the Peace Centre is also a meeting place. In practice this means that it serves as an information centre for other peace initiatives. In this framework the Peace Centre provides a platform for study days, exhibitions, debates and other meetings of peace organisations and initiatives. People can also contact us with their questions about “peace”.
